bad lead quality is a content problem before it is a sales problem
when a page is getting the wrong leads, the first instinct is usually to blame sales or targeting.
sometimes that is true, but a lot of the time the content is making the wrong promise.
if every post is broad tips, trend reactions, or generic proof, you attract people who like the topic but do not have the problem you solve. then sales gets stuck filtering people who were never a fit.
the fix i like is to make a small content audit around intent, not format:
- what problem does this post imply we solve?
- what buyer stage is it speaking to?
- what bad-fit person would also love this post?
- what objection should the next post filter out?
it usually makes the calendar less noisy. fewer posts, but each one teaches the right person to self-identify.
has anyone here changed content because the leads were wrong, not because reach was low?
