Have to agree. My mom is disabled and she has been able to visit so many national parks and do recreation most people with mobility issues could not in so many places. There's plenty of work still to do, but the ADA is a huge blessing.

The USA does quite a lot of things right. However the sidewalks could use some serious work in many cities. They are often a big problem for wheelchair users.

Just want to remind everyone that these things are not a given, they are fought for. And there have been a lot of recent cuts that impinge on the ADA that make these sort of things possible. The work is never done.

As a sign language interpreter, the ADA is the only reason I have work. If you don’t legally require accessibility, people will not do it sadly.

We also don't appreciate OSHA standards until we see gruesome workplace accidents in countries without them

I'm starting to see a trend of most people realizing that's it pretty damn good over here besides politics

For now. Keep voting the way we have been and see how quick companies do this when they aren’t forced to

Businesses complained about the expense of having to put them in, but we had government that actually did things for citizens every now & then, back then.

You can thank George H Bush and the Radical Liberal Agenda that passed the Americans With Disabilities Act. It all started with the Leftwing Facist Nixon, and the 1973 Rehabilitation Act. Followed by the groundwork done by the Commie Peanut Farmer's administration writing Section 504's disabilities-rights regs. Where the Liberal Renegade Regan's admin worked making SEC 504 usable. To finally be signed into law by the Socialist Sympathizer George H Bush's admin in 1990.

/s for those who can't read sarcasm and don't remember how bipartisan efforts work.

In Germany, I noticed the hydraulics on the bus lower to the side of passengers getting on/off to make them as close to curb level as possible.
