Bel familly is a big big name in the french cheese industry. The father Jules bel started the company, Léon bel his son made la vache qui rit...and during the 30 they invented the babybell and started its comercialization in the 50's. I am not living anymore in france but both la vache qui rit and the babybell still remain today one of the most consumed industrial cheese people eat.
