My dentist's receptionist is just like that, but both her eyes blink in sync. The other day I called to reschedule an appt and I could hear her sighing loudly over the phone lol
The eyelid move reminds me of when they pick up ventriloquist dummies in horror movies. Well done.
I had a dermatologist office that was like that. Never went back. Worst receptionist ever.
Seriously, you guys have never worked as a receptionist, it is bloody hard work. The audacity of some patients, like, I’d be gossiping with my work besties about my neighbours genital herpes diagnosis while tearing up some old hags warfarin prescription, and they would literally WALK up to me and ASK for an APPOINTMENT.
See you next Tuesday- I caught that!
this could go for any fast food place these days too. the amount of times the drive thru window or cashier just doesn't say a word to you is wild. hand you the food and shut the window with no words spoken lmao these people are feral
Gen X, I want you take a good long hard look in the mirror. This is how receptionists have been since the 80s.
I hate doing the boomer bit but it’s really common now. I went to a florist because I needed a new pot, went inside the shop and a young girl was there. I greeted her and she just STARED at me without saying anything and I was like “uh, excuse me, do you have any pots?” She sighs and does an eye roll and points somewhere behind me. I see they’re not the ones I need and say “oh no sorry, I need terracotta pots but thank you anyway, have a nice day” and she just shrugs and goes away. It was so weird, and it’s not like I’m that old. I felt like I was intruding in her personal space and it happens more and more often. My favorite coffee place has a new hire that is just like this, even more rude…I don’t expect people to cater to my every whim, but at least a “hello”, “here’s your coffee”, “bye” without eye rolls and making faces???
