Guys- you can market this btw. Advertise your services to talk to healthcare and mechanics for women. I think we can get this haggled down to the “help moving some furniture” rate- pizza and beers after.

My wife was concerned about something with her eye, specifically that it might be cancer. The ophthalmologist was being a huge prick to her and just telling her not to worry. She made a second appointment for the same exact thing and brought me with her.

I just sat there, quietly watching the doctor do his thing for a while. When it was over my wife said it was a night/day difference and that he actually examined her eye thoroughly this time. I was pretty shocked.

This was just an eye appointment. I'm very sorry ladies, this shit is not right. I'll be going with her to every appointment I can from here on out. It's unreal, just do your job.

This is a ridiculous aspect of medicine. I have even been ignored by doctors who are women. "Oh your back hurts for over a year? Of course it does, you had a baby, try carrying her on the other side of your body"

Only to eventually get the courage to go elsewhere and get an MRI and find out I have bulging discs in my lower spine.

I hate the medical system and how it treats women. (I know many medical problems are cast aside for men as well, but I can't speak to that so I hold my fury for the way women are treated)

Seriously y'all.

I didn't start getting anywhere until bringing my dad along.

Bring a brother, uncle, husband, or pay someone to act concerned.

This is the only way you'll get somewhere.

This is a real thing.

My wife wanted to get a hysterectomy after having kids. She told them twice that she was done having kids. Both times they turned her away.

I showed up with her the 3rd time, and they agreed.

Anyone in the medical field have a logical reason why you all are making me the one in charge of my wifes body!?

This is so real! So many doctors refused to listen to women, refuse to contemplate any form of treatment. They want you to just suck it up and tough it out and that’s such bullshit. I think it’s a weird form of medical misogyny.

But luckily there ARE doctors out there that you can get to treat you, if you find them.

It is so fucking WILD that hormone treatments aren’t more readily available for women globally.

I've always accompanied by wife to her gyno appointments. I haven't had to really chime in but I'm ready to do so.
