Would an ad-free social media app with chronological feeds actually stand a chance?
Hey everyone,
I've been working behind the scenes on a concept for a new social media app, and I'm really curious to hear your thoughts on it before I continue putting endless hours into this project.
We all know the drill: major platforms are getting increasingly cluttered, packed with ads, and completely driven by weird algorithms that dictate what you see rather than letting you view what you actually choose to follow.
What if you built a platform based on these core principles:
- 100% Chronological: Only the timelines of the people you actually follow, in exact order of posting. No "recommended for you" clutter.
- Zero Ads: No trackers, no banner ads.
- Alternative Revenue Model: Instead of selling ad space, the platform runs on a direct reward system.
I'd love to get your honest opinions: Would you actually switch to a platform like this or are people too used to current algorithms for something like this to succeed?
All feedback, doubts, or ideas are welcome!
