Celebrity/influencer VS Brand

brightblackhoney on instagram

Ngl especially with the Ariana Grande convo recently, sometimes i forget the brand is separate from the perso, and stylists like Law Roach, designers, and the fashion industry are benefiting off this fandom and attuning their product changes and messaging to it in order to sell more. I forget that the larger conversation goes beyond the person and there’s an entire village of people benefiting from this market research.

I mean, people are told it's marketing all the time, they don't believe it or they think they're the exception to the brainwashing. It's mentally unwell people who stan or celebrity worship. Look at Taylor swift, she's only a product mixed with PR at this point but her fandom continue to falsely accuse people of misogyny for pointing that out. There is a big difference between being a fan, and being in a fandom which is usually run similar to a cult.
