I cut my finger to the bone in the Dominican Republic. A lady gave me a ride to the hospital on her bike. My friend was going to walk and meet me there. The hospital didn’t even ask my name or anything. They injected some stuff in there and sewed it up so fast I walked back and my friend was just leaving. Like maybe 15 minutes all in. It was also free but I had to buy a tetanus shot. It was a couple dollars, under ten I think.

Man, good for her. I wish everyone could afford to do medical tourism. US is a country where our taxes are paying for another entirely different country’s citizens healthcare, yet bankrupt people for their own care. Honestly it’s pathetic how US citizens are treated, in a country of such plenty.

We received a starter care pack in Singapore as well. I recall there were so many items it was quite overwhelming!

The possibility of medical bankruptcy if she had a kid domestically is the cringiest part of all this.

I was so lucky my husband had a month of bad checks and I qualified for pregnancy Medicaid in our state. My pregnancy, csection, and IUD were all free. My daughter kept Medicaid for 3 years until they ran out tax info and saw we made too much.

My nurses did tell us to take EVERYTHING and brought us more stuff to take.
