As an adoptee myself from Ethiopia, I 100% agree with the things she said. Thankfully my family is wonderful and gave me everything including a little brother ( not so little anymore bigger than me and going to his second year of college).

That very well could be OPs birthday. Things like that happen organically all the time and it's awful but it's still reality for a lot of folks.
