Instagram denied a report about blatant animal abuse in a reel.

I followed an Instagram page, @thingsinmicrowave because it was cool seeing random stuff in a microwave. But about 8 hours ago they posted a video of them microwaving an alive cockroach, the full thing. I understand it’s a cockroach but it’s sick and twisted to do this and then post it.

I reported it to insta but the report came back with the content still being allowed on the app.

I can’t be the only one who thinks this is wrong right? Like I said I know it’s a bug and most people kill them with a shoe or something, but to catch it, put it in the microwave, edit it and post it, and not once think “this is wrong” is crazy to me.

imo the initial report rejection is almost always automated. appeal it if you can, those tend to get actual human eyes. mass reporting from multiple accounts also helps push it up the queue.
