Carlin was damn near prophetic. I remember watching his HBO special in the late 90s - at the end of it he was interviewed by this no-name young comedian that Carlin gushed about. "You're gonna show us a lot and I look forward to it" like. If Carlin was saying this guy was special...

I looked the kid up and he had some show on MTV that was kinda stupid and I remembered thinking "...this might be the only time Carlin's been wrong about anything"

...a year later that kid landed the daily show. Jon Stewart proved Carlin's faith in him right every step of his career.

The machine hasn't changed, it had always been this way and won't stop until the cycle is broken of electing corporate employees.

I often think about what he'd have to say about the cesspool that is this administration
