Branding advice
My current niche is cozy content, author journey, with personal growth. I have more of a process and storytelling approach to my content rather than just showing the pretty finished product. Part of my branding is being for lost girls and going on the journey together - which includes showing the mess of my life. I had a silly little chat with Gemini (hehehaha) about unexplored territory in my niche that branched out into my branding and visuals.
Currently, I have a colorful whimsical garden vibe going that keeps things bright and uplifting. To be sure, I do want to make things encouraging and calming for my audience. But I also care deeply about authenticity, exploring deep topics, and also plan to write some darker/creepier books verging on horror. So biggie G suggested "overgrown witch" as a visual theme, which would take on dark greens and abandon some of the bright and cheerful aspects.
While I know branding is about the business and the audience, I feel like I'm struggling with either wanting it to really be about me or feeling like it's not actually going to attract the right people? Or it feels inauthentic. I'm an artist, ok. It also sucks to have created long-form content pieces that are really not the right tone for the new theme, but I have like 5 followers so it doesn't truly matter. Anyway, do I make it more dark themed or leave her be?
