real name vs nickname on social media
hello everyone! For context, I'm planning on growing my social media accounts professionally. I work in creative fields so I always wanted to use my real name to build up a brand. Also I can't decide on one niche, I just want to be freely creative that's why I thought that a personal name would be the best choice.
I'm not planning on sharing anything controversial so being linked to these accounts are not a concern to me when it comes to my professional life. The problem is: I've been reading so much about cybersecurity that I am now a bit paranoid. Should I use my real name if I want to grow an online presence? I tried nicknames but they feel a bit distant comparing to my real name.
When I talk about real name, I'm referring to first name only. Not full name.
I also want my name to sound professional so quirky nicknames or numbers won't work for me. The majority of content creators use their real name and it seems to be working pretty well. What's your opinion on this?
