Freelance Social Media
So, I have my first proposal with a client tomorrow and I wrote my first retainer. I would like you to rip me a new one please (gently). I live in SoCal btw and my monthly retainer was written with the intent of doing 10-12 hrs of work / week at around a $28/hr rate under the table but $32/hr if I am 10-99.
For context, I've been doing corporate socials for a little while on and off as well as helping this client manage his page for a few years but it's really been more of just a post-and-ghost situation under the table. We're taking it to the next level.
For $1300/mo, this client will get
- Full content calendar, complete with event promo campaigns & strategy
- 4-6 videos a week (video / reels is my expertise and pretty easy for me to execute these days) --> cross-promo on TikTok for most of these too
- 1-2 photos per week (product push)
- Engagement management
Additional projects menu
- graphics -> $50-$100 per project depending on scope (I am less experienced in graphics and still teaching myself)
- talking head videos (me on camera, full studio) -> $75-$100
- Ads -> $20 fee because Meta sucks
- photography / videography -> something around $25 /HR since this skillset is still new for me and something I'm testing out.
What do we think? Am I charging too little? Or too much?
