So I've been semi following homie since his first blow up on Reddit like 2, 3 years ago. A few months back, he apparently did go dark, cause he was in fear for his life.

The VOCs that are a byproduct of the process, can be gaseous and explosive. That are found to be toxic upon interaction with most organisms. But, from what I understand, it's a similar problem to the toxic gases released by coal plants and current virgin plastic manufacturing methods. There are solutions, like catalytic capture "caps" that would keep the toxic compounds in some sort of matrix, instead of being just released into the environment.

While I do like what he's doing, I disagree with how he markets his work at the best viable solution. In reality, we're probably going to be doing some pyrolysis, alongside bio-degradation (bacteria and fungi), expansive recycling programs, and probably plain old incineration.

But different plastics are different, right? So different plastics would require different processes, right?

Unless he's just going to use them as fuel in a super dirty steam engine, which I assume he's not.

EDIT: And I wouldn't think gasoline would be created, even if it was used as fuel.

If you wanted to, you could burn plastic for heat and be 1000x more efficient than this.
