You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. I've seen companies give sponsorships for less.

Maybe lead with you're doing it for charities, but nobody owes you anything just because you decided to go on a jolly for charity.

At a companybI used to work for we had so many requests for "sponsorship" for people who basically wanted to do a fun trip but because they were raising money for charity figured they were owed free stuff.

We did sponsor some people but it was usually for something major.

"I will make it worth your while" What a terrible thing to say.

Next time, maybe check with them BEFORE you start.
