This is probably staged but if not.... Aaron, i have some bad news for you buddy.

What is not stated in the videos (and, BTW may explain some things for the people who are saying that they would do the same as him) is that people with autism tend to be literalists in their interpretation of communication. They miss subtextual clues. For example, when she asked him the question about when your girlfriend asks if an outfit makes her look fat he missed that she likely would actually be looking for a compliment and not actually wanting him to assess her apparent size. And for the question about if a stranger said that he looked familiar he got hung up on the word "stranger" and missed that it's possible for someone to be a stranger to him, but that they could still be familiar with who he is. Or when you walk in to a room and everyone suddenly stops talking, most people would interpret that as they were talking about you, not that they probably just finished whatever conversation they were having. Or his confusion about someone looking bored when he's talking. It's the unspoken bits of communication that people with autism tend to miss.

And yes, I know what feeling the compulsion to over explain things says about me. I have kids with autism and am diagnosed with ADHD myself and am generally blind to subtext in creative works, at least, so I wouldn't be shocked if that was only a partially correct diagnosis.

As the parent of an autistic son, I can confidently say this guy is 100% on the spectrum... Welcome to the club
