Dumb question by a non American here: are they allowed to tow you while you are in the car? Seems like a highly unsafe idea.

As a European... This kind of repo needs to be illegal. If you repossess something, it needs to be done with law enforcement at controllable situation.

Otherwise it is literally robing.

But what do I know, I got 30 days of vacation a year and healthcare.

Repo man is still 1 -- Corvette man is going to be super fucked as now they have criminal activity instead of just a repo. Now the cops and the repo man will be hunting them down. The cops for trespassing (once it is hooked the vehicle is no longer their to enter) and theft of services and possibly charges for damages to the tow truck and of course the repo man to get that Corvette. It is just like -- really, really bad decisions to take a hooked repo from the repo man.

If he can’t pay his regular payments, how is he going to afford the $15k in repairs?
