Speaking in Retail

I've stood where she's standing. What you're seeing is a mix of chronic exhaustion ground together with attempting to offer a friendly persona that's long been rubbed away. All that's left is a thin facade of a human personality that can only go through the motions of customer service. It's like being a marionette of raw human meet feebly dancing on its corporate strings and behind the smile is just a never ending internal scream.

Hilarious. Sometimes every now and then I do get asked 4 or 5 questions at the checkout. Like, can I just simply pay and put my item in a bag?

What if I told you that everyone sounds like this to me because I have watched tv with subtitles and captions for decades.
