"fake" following

one too many times, i'd scroll on tiktok, see i'm following an account that doesn't ring a bell, see the profile, and realize that i didn't knowingly choose to follow them. maybe my thumb slipped and i didn't pay attention, or (what i'm thinking) the person did something to make me a follower.

eventually it started annoying me, so i took some time over a few days and went through all my followings, to remove the "bad weed". i have a lot, so you'll probably say that it's possible that i forgot about a few, and now think i'm following them because of something they did. my answer would be : when i went through this list, i had it in reverse chronological order. so let's say account number 879 is unknown to me, i block them. but i remember who's number 880, and possibly what video made me follow them.

i'm making this post because, just now, i saw i was once again following two accounts that didn't ring a bell at all. one was one of these accounts that either repost other videos, and the other a woman who makes art. the first one was pretty high on my list (again, in reverse chronological order, so the most recent were on top), the other i don't know.

so my question would be, have you had it happen to you, and/or do you know how i can stop it ?
