Man this isn’t wholesome it’s just sad. Look at all these young women who had to give birth without the support they deserved. Look at all of these young men that missed something so fundamentally important and for what?
Goddamn. This should radicalize people, not make them go aww

Damn, dude was gone a long time
I'm surprised ICE wasn't there to pick up wives and kids
When will these billionaires fight their own wars and stop using our bodies for their pedo conflicts
Remember, your secretary of defense tried to say that they weren't living in horrible circumstances that they hadn't been on duty for too long.
Remember that shit come November
After they have helped kill 160 school children.
this is the highest number yet claimed of sailor's meeting their children for the first time. I've seen as low as a dozen, and now as high as 122.
I rarely comment on social media, but some of the reactions here are honestly disappointing.
I served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, through administrations I disliked and ones I agreed with, though all had their faults. Three of my children were born while I was on active duty, and I missed the birth of one of them entirely because I was where the Navy needed me to be. That's not a request for sympathy. It's simply the reality that thousands of military families knowingly accept.
What I find troubling is how casually people mock service members and their families because they dislike the political circumstances surrounding a deployment or military decision.
These men and women do not swear an oath to a president, a political party, or an ideology. They swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution and to serve their country. They don't get to pick and choose assignments based on personal convenience or political preference. Following lawful orders, even when they are difficult, stressful, or personally painful, is part of the sacrifice they voluntarily accept. If you disagree with a policy, a deployment, or an administration, that's your right as an American. Criticize elected officials. Debate policy. Vote for change.
But mocking the service members and families who bear the burden of those decisions is immature and deeply misguided. Behind every deployment is a spouse carrying the load alone, children missing a parent, and service members sacrificing birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and sometimes moments they can never get back.
Judge individuals by their actions. Hold leaders accountable for their decisions. But showing contempt for people who have committed themselves to serving their fellow citizens says far more about the person doing the mocking than it does about those wearing the uniform.
I will probably get downvoted - in fact saying that is almost a guarantee. I am absolutely against war, conflict, and I hate how government really be doing their shit and their citizens of those nations get the flack (ex: I'm American there for default people will assume I support Trump. False) I digress.
A lot of military people get lured in by the pretense of free education, easy money, as well as health insurance and other benefits for themselves and their family. Often times recruiters will tell young recruits they may not even see battle and may just be in offices. So not even military person you see is a child killer or is foaming at the mouth to harm other nations. Perhaps it's just the cycle of underprivileged people being sold a dream and sometimes when you want to save your family, you have to make choices.
Just sit and watch the cringe and make jokes like damn didn't know it took 12 months to carry a baby. Go to your political subreddits to hate on people seeing their children or smth.
I swear the American government leverages and glorifies moments like this to inspire people to join. But this moment didnt need to happen if the government didnt start a war
