Every time I try to make a rednote account I never get the verification code, I tried using wechat & gmail to make an account as well but nothing works. I’ve never made a rednote account before so it’s not like I was banned or anything, is it just the fact that i have a usa number orrr ? i just wanted to lurk on there lol

Without real identity verification, your account will be restricted, and you won’t be able to post or interact normally. Rednote is especially strict about content sensitivity. If you look into Rednote's community rules, you’ll see that the platform emphasizes creating an extremely positive environment, aiming to maintain a good image and comply with Chinese government content regulations. This approach inevitably limits freedom of expression and creativity on the platform. Even posts with slight negativity or sensitive wording can lead to account penalties, and the punishment system is quite harsh. Depending on the severity of the violation, users may face shadowbans, function restrictions, comment bans, hidden notes, or even full account bans. One thing I personally dislike is that sometimes your topics gets flagged for being “sensitive,” while at the same time many female creators post borderline revealing content to attract views, yet the platform rarely takes action. This inconsistency is particularly frustrating. Despite the strict moderation, I can’t deny that Rednote has one of the best organic traffic algorithms among Chinese social apps, arguably even better than TikTok’s. Around 80–90% of a post’s traffic typically comes from the front-page recommendation system, and when you post a note, the algorithm actively pushes it to users, allowing you to gain exposure without paid promotion. If your content is high quality and uses appropriate hashtags, your posts can stay near the top of keyword searches for a long time, resulting in significant traction, likes, saves, and followers, all without spending any money on promotion. Rednote presents a unique balance of strict regulation and powerful opportunity. While its rigorous content moderation and mandatory identity verification can feel restrictive and inconsistent, especially regarding sensitive topics, the platform’s highly effective organic traffic algorithm offers creators unparalleled visibility and growth potential. I really want to make a second account dedicated to my art, but it won’t let me verify it with one phone number. I only have access to one, is there any way around this? I know of burner numbers, but I don’t really want to pay a subscription like that for an account. Thanks for the help.

However, I’ve run into a frustrating issue. **My account keeps getting banned shortly after registration, before I even have a chance to post anything or start using it.** I understand that platforms have security systems and account verification policies, but this has happened repeatedly, and I’m struggling to figure out what’s triggering it. It makes me wonder: Does RN have any undocumented restrictions on users registering or accessing the platform from the US? Could the issue be related to my IP address, phone number, device, account verification, or other registration signals? Are there specific requirements for accounts used for professional content, business development, or legal education? Has anyone based outside mainland CN successfully built and maintained a RN account for professional purposes? If so, what did you do differently? I’m not trying to bypass platform rules. I just want to understand what I might be doing wrong and whether there’s a legitimate way to register and use the platform consistently. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced the same issue, especially people based in the US or other countries outside mainland CN. Has anyone figured out why an account can get banned before publishing a single post?
