When you touch anything at someone else's house

50/50 between "oh that's normal" and "what did you do!"
Jesus, this is every time I visit my Dad. He has such a long list of repairs and his perfectionism forces him to overthink the tiniest repair/replacement, so it takes ages to fix or buy a new thing.
Then he gets all huffy at me when I didn't know [random object] must be [handled in a specific, precious way] and it breaks.
I love him but his mental map is impossible to follow.
I feel so seen
This is my life, and then when i handle peoples stuff very delicately they bring it up like im being weird. I have to tell them im either clumsy as fuck or cursed because things just fall apart on me when i dont own them and or treat them like they're made of glass and silk.
i feel so valid right now

The unusual chair is always when things get weird.
Now I feel like I live in someone else's house.
I have that same shitty air fryer, and the handle comes off every time I use it.
WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN!!!
The first time I used the toilet at my exes house it clogged and flooded (l’m the child of a career plumber, so I don’t play fast and loose w ppls plumbing) and his parents were like “omg you FLUSHED tp!? Don’t you know tp doesn’t go in the toilet?” 😑 No, you have a plumbing issue you neglected to share with a guest. Cut to my ex fucking up MY toilet by flushing wipes and condoms.
Is this a relatable experience?
