Y'all know why Trump suddenly became "pro-TikTok" right?

Say it with me....because he and his oligarch buddies are getting worried Americans are waking up to the truth about the anti-China propaganda BS in Red Note and will either demand better conditions or go full socialist.

I doubt its that deep. Its probably as simple as him realizing that a lot of young Trump fans spread his bs using Tik Tok pretty successfully, and he likes his ego being stroked.

Anything apart from ego with that man is just noise.

Seriously I just thought he found a way he could profit from TikTok? National security isn't really a top priority concern for the incoming administration

Go find the person on here telling me how the fentanyl crisis in America is China’s fault. Apparently everything that is wrong with the U.S. is all coming from China. Next it will be assault rifles. School shootings definitely caused by China. One thing I have found on Rednote, is that Chinese people aren’t constantly being rage-baited by their society.

I won't go back to TT if its bought out. I'd rather pay for a VPN in order to connect with outside comrades.

Yeah he definitely got the buy in for his buddies here. I’m sure meta and/or musk will announce a purchase if a large percentage and the content will be cracked down on. The TikTok we all knew is dead and gone

A shuttered TT is worthless to his billionaire enablers who are looking to strip the service to the bones in order to selfishly prop up their own, less popular, apps. 90 days gives them time to negotiate a buyout and disposition of assets. It's crony, vulture capitalism.

I don't really think it's that deep. Trump has a long track record about being pretty anti China and it's one of the few points he's been entirely consistent on. I'm of the opinion he's pro tik tok because it's benefitting him in some way, shape or form.

Biden gave him a golden gift to be the hero and save tic tock

But will he? The same people that were behind the tic tock ban and spent millions on propaganda and lobbying also gave him a lot of money. And he has to hate that people are able to communicate a lot freely.

So what will he do? Put a 90 day extension so someone will buy it? And will it be another Elon musk type who will ruin it?

Or just time untill bluesky can put something out so even if it is a musk type people still have options.

I’d almost say that Biden screwed him on day one putting it in his lap

Trump has repeatedly said China outperforms U.S in both Technology and education. Its his whole schtick when he talks about reforming the education system.

Also Bytedance has repeatedly said they are not selling their algo.

Yup. This push do ban TikTok was an epic fuck up by our government. I already heard some noise about banning Rednote. So now what? Are they gonna play a ridiculous game of whack-a-mole with Chinese apps?

Making the Jump from TikTok to Rednote(Xiaohongshu)? Here’s What You Need to Know

So you’re thinking about switching (or at least dabbling) from TikTok to **Rednote** (aka Xiaohongshu)? Here’s a quick rundown on what to expect and how to adapt: 1. **Different Vibe** * **TikTok** is all about short, snappy videos—dances, trends, and memes. * **Rednote** leans more toward lifestyle tips, product reviews, and personal stories. Think mini-blogs rather than just quick clips. 2. **Less is More—or Is It?** * On **TikTok**, you can go viral with a 15-second masterpiece. * On **Rednote**, people actually read captions and appreciate detailed posts. Don’t be afraid to write a bit more and share personal insights. 3. **Engage with the Community** * Responding to comments is key on both platforms, but **Rednote** users expect a friendlier, more helpful approach. Focus on real interaction rather than just racking up views. 4. **Use Relevant Hashtags & Keywords** * **TikTok** hashtags can be trendy and fleeting. * **Rednote** hashtags and keywords should be more targeted, especially if you’re reviewing products or sharing how-to tips. 5. **Be Ready for Culture Shifts** * The **Rednote** audience often loves beauty, travel, fashion, and “real-life” hacks. * If you’re pivoting from dance challenges, consider experimenting with lifestyle or review content to fit the platform’s style. 6. **Quality Over Quantity** * While **TikTok** can reward frequent posting, **Rednote** might favor fewer, well-thought-out posts that really resonate. High-quality visuals and genuine storytelling go a long way. Got questions about Rednote? Drop ’em below—always happy to help a fellow content creator make the jump!

The ban isn't really about privacy concerns

Why exactly? You and me know why America is banning tiktok... They can't control the narrative their like they do with Facebook or Instagram YouTube. etc The genocide in Gaza was being shown in its full without any kind of censorship... And daddy israel doesn't like that so the AIPAC who's holding the American politicians by the balls... Forced them into banning the app.... It's not about privacy or any of that.... Remember edward Snowden.? I rest my case.
