Don't Fall for the Hype
I fell for it too, guys. And I'm proud of us for our willingness to demonstrate our dissent against the incoming fascism that is attempting to take root in America. However, all is not as it appears or was presented to us. The image the U.S. has presented to the world about our lives is that we all live in Beverly Hills, in McMansions, and as kids, we all have rooms like you'd see on the cast of some Disney or Nickelodeon show.
But that's not true for the majority of us. And it isn't true for the majority of Chinese either.
To the content creators and defactors who felt emotional learning that the U.S. has made our day-to-day lives a horrific, unending struggle, the likes of which many other developed/"first-world" countries do not experience IS true, but China is NOT some haven like we want to believe! There ARE countries like that, but they are countries that have a strong, well developed social system, and things such as INCOME CAPS for public officials, to prevent corruption from private companies and lobbyists! Things like UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE and EDUCATION (including university - in fact, Denmark PAYS its citizens to attend university, and provides stipends for food and housing!).
It sucks, but the TRUTH is that it's going to take planning, hard work, organization, and COMMUNITY to fix this country. Those that can escape, will, but many of us are stuck here - not to mention that there is a LONG path to citizenship (i.e., land ownership, and access to social services) in many of those countries that DO provide those things - you'll have to find your own way for atleast 10 years, before you can START accumulating any social capital.
Is that the plan? A population already living month-month, and in debt, that is mostly mono-lingual, is going to have the money, time, and ability to, en masse, leave this place and successfully immerse ourselves into a new place with a different metric system, traffic system, legal system, social system, with a different language, and survive, essentially as unskilled workers (when you consider some of our rankings in math and science, globally) for +10 YEARS? How???
Look.
We've got the drive, we've got the momentum, but we need to plan ahead. think ahead, and be ready to do the hard work.
For those that DO stay on RedNOTE, I do think it's an amazing opportunity to connect with the citizens, so we can see the other half of the coin. Remember, almost 40% of all greenhouse emissions come from China - but how many of our companies have their factories there, causing the pollution? Have you seen pictures of England during the industrial revolution? All we did was offset all that horrific pollution overseas.
Why would the people in China be making more money than us, WHEN THE ENTIRE REASON U.S. companies sent everything overseas was to literally PAY PEOPLE LESS? How COULD they make more than us???
This current administration is MORE than about bringing us back to the 1950s, or even the 1850s. It's about DRAGGING us all back to the 1450s!! This is a call for a return to the serfdom! They control +80% of the wealth and they want the other 20%.
There were no benevolent kings, nor were there noble knights - they took over with horrific violence. Who do you think commissioned all those medieval torture devices? It wasn't the peasants.
I'm saying this with love, because it's the truth. So, are we ready to get to work? The ONLY way any of us get through ANY of this is to do it together. It's 99:1. NEVER forget that!
