Tiktok age verification

My tiktok account has been age restricted (I don’t know why, because I don’t post my face and have never stated my age). I’m 15, but apparently you have to be 16 for certain features and I want people to be able to comment on my videos. I don’t have an ID yet, so I can’t fix it myself. It requires a selfie with your ID and I don’t want my parents to look through my account. Not that I’m posting anything weird, it’s just embarrassing for some reason. Also, I highly doubt they’ll be willing to submit personal information to tiktok. I’m wondering if there’s any way to get past this, or if I’m out of luck. Sorry if this is a dumb question.
