It's been americanized. China gave the US a true freedom of speech platform, the US government and the tech bros didn't like it. Now to avoid being banned, TikTok has to play by their rules. China censorship my ass... the US is no different lol

This search has always been restricted in the US along with similar searches such as:

• Biden rigged election
• Stolen election
• 2020 rigged election

And other non-election searches such as:

• COVID Hoax
• BMW attempts to use blinker
• Hitler

There are valid reasons to be concerned about TikTok since the ban, but this is not one of them. TikTok has famously censored all kinds of stuff for years, and people are noticing things they didn’t notice before.
