Similarities in "fake" content (between XHS and TT)
I feel like I'm probably a little late to realizing this, but today I had my first proof that, sometimes, the really beautiful people wearing the really nice clothes are not, in fact, doing the hard labor they are shown doing in a series of clips. Sometimes (especially the zoomed in bits) there are signs of the actual person doing the work.
I knew that this was common with TikTokers, YouTubers, etc. People building homes and so on are known for doing this. It's a good way to make sure you keep your limbs safe and someone gets paid for actually building your house and so on (though they don't get credit - kinda like a ghostwriter). Anyway, I guess I was a little disheartened to see it on XHS as well, even though, duh!, they're content creators too!
To clarify, a video showed up on my Home page of a made-up Chinese woman in very pretty clothes smashing and chopping really hard food ingredients outdoors. There was also some wood chopping. I noticed that in the videos where she is full visible, there's a lot of cutting, and she's also having a really hard time. But in the videos zoomed in, she's doing everything so well. And then I saw it... the hands on one of the clips were completely different. Her hands are very slender (a lot of lotion). These hands were rough, hardworking hands. What's funny is no one in the comments points this out (on TT and YouTube, you will find at least one comment pointing it out).
Anyway, I just thought it was an interesting similarity/differences between content creators and users of both apps.
What do you all think? Have you noticed similar stuff?
