I have only ever liked or watched music, fishing, or cat related videos. I never watch political videos and never have. I haven't been on for a few weeks. Now every other video is something about Trump? Most of these are pro MAGA? What exactly is forcing these into my feed?
I believe (and i could be wrong) that there was a reset to the algorithm so you wil be getting loads of American news outlets and they're all on Trump or Elon. My feed was mostly dogs random cartoons and art stuff until then but after a bit or 'I'm not interested' it's returned back to normal. Just say you're not interested in any American News and you should be good
There’s been a increase in political content because there has been a major political event (Dump taking office). Both conservative and progressive content creators are going to make content reacting to that. Even smaller creators I follow have been making “political” content because they are frustrated by the new administration . For example, a cooking creator I follow had a job offer rescinded by the federal hiring freeze.
As for why so many are pro MAGA, I think they have just created a lot of more content in response to feeling emboldened by the new administration. Just don’t engage, block the worst ones, and engage highly with the content you want to see.
However, we are at a critical point in American politics right now and I think it would be difficult to completely scrub your fyp of political content. Too many people are using their platforms to speak out, and rightfully so.
