Will I lose TikTok if I upgrade my phone?

I’m upgrading to the iPhone 16 next month and because of the issues with TikTok lately I had to ask: will I lose access to it during the upgrade?

Actually if you are moving to a galaxy device you can use the smart switch feature and connect the cables to both devices and you don’t lose access. I recently found this out because I am about to switch from a iPhone to a s25 ultra.

unless it’s reinstated to the app store, yes you will

Most likely

At first I thought the app would be "saved" in iCloud but further research shows that this is not the case so you will not have access to TT after upgrading your phone since it is no longer available in the App Store, sorry!

Yes probably. Most app data is stored locally. It will remember what apps you had but if it can’t download from the App Store then it won’t be functional.

My app updated auto and I still have it. I thought I wouldn’t but, it didn’t affect it at all. (This is in my experience though)

Like the other person said while app data is saved to iCloud the app itself is not sometimes you can still download apps that are not in the App Store but with this TikTok has been completely deleted from the US AppStore servers so you won’t be able to get it so you can either sideload a TikTok IPA file or download it from the Canadian App Store using a VPN

I need a new phone and I’m going on a trip where I’ll want a new, better camera so I’m upgrading now. I’m still on the XS from 2019 so I’m long overdue. That said, yes Tiktok will probably be unavailable. Even if you transfer the app files on the computer I think it needs to be confirmed by the app store and it can’t now. I think it only works still because our apps had already once been confirmed when downloaded or updated for the “last time”. But now that Tiktok is a ghost, I think it may give an error or not even install when trying to do it the backwards way. So until the government stops screwing us for one second and not just turn the app into truth social 2.0, we new phonies will have to have a dedicated old device just for Tiktok until the final decision for the app comes down.
