Don't understand the algorithm

I just opened an account for the first time. Not really following anyone yet and no one really follows me. I made 4 posts so far. First one got 700+ views gradually in 24 hours and didn't move for the next 2 days. Then I made 3 posts in a row which hit 650-700 views in 1-2 hours and got stuck there. How does it actually work? Content is gaming related memes/news, with correct hashtags etc.
