Not only do I feel bad, but I also don’t want to have to explain why the IP is wrong(and don’t even know if it’s allowed) each time. I looked through settings and couldn’t find anything to refresh my IP even though I could indicate that I’m American

It should update after a while. I signed up on my usual USA IP and when I’ve used a French VPN it changed my IP to France bug it went back after a bit when I turned the VPN off
Rednote does not yet have the capability to handle the increasing number of foreign users, so it automatically locks the country/region based on the IP address and does not allow changes. You can request a manual modification through customer service, but don’t expect to ever reach Rednote’s support. So, here’s the best advice for you: if your account is newly created and doesn’t have much data, you might consider deleting your current account and then re-registering after turning off your VPN.
