Tiktok not saving my likes/disappearing likes

As the title says, tiktok isn't saving my likes and seems to actively be hiding/deleting them because I've watched them disappear from the liked videos panel. I've wiped all the app data, deleted the cache, logged in and out, what's the problem?

This is part of a larger problem with the algorithm being useless and not indicative of my interests at all. About to make a full switch to just using Instagram.
