the angler fish

okay so does anyone else think that the angler fish that swam to the top was trying to off-themselves? i keep seeing sad videos about it but i looked it up... they can't breathe at higher altitudes. they must've known that they couldn't breathe well before reaching the top so the fish wanting to see light didnt make sense to me
