Is tik tok different?

I was an avid tik tok user since 2020. I thought it was a great app and I’d use it to look into things I’m interested in, learn new hobbies, recipes, the good ole brain rot and I also enjoyed keeping up with news and current events.

To keep things civil I’ll just say I do not agree with the current administration if the US.

When the one day ban happened, the message of them working with president trump to restore service rubbed me the wrong way and I impulsively deleted it.

I just got into a new hobbie and thought about redownloading the app to see that specific content. It doesn’t seem like tik tok has been bought by Meta or that anything has changed in its administration but I’ve encountered comments that it doesn’t feel the same as before. (Comparing it to the other mother from Coraline lol). And I was surprised to see so many posts on this thread about comments being taken down.

So what’s the vibe of it nowadays ?
