So I’m a musician who wants to promote my tracks more and I keep looking at tik tok. I downloaded the app, created an account, did a little research, and deleted it. I’m not planning on giving it access to my camera or microphone, and only select photos. What’s the worst thing that can happen, Will I be cooked. PS: I don’t know if this is the right sub so pls don’t judge.

I've been on TikTok for 5 years and my Chinese spy has only threatened to cook me a handful of times. I doubt his ability to follow through at this point tbh.
I don't know if you're aware but, Discord, Instagram, Facebook and plenty other apps also ask for access to your phone Camera & microphone

If you don't give it camera rights, you'll never be able to post a vid, so what's the point?
Just use a burner phone if you're that scared

Use TikTok while you still can. I’ve used it for years without any security issues.
My Chinese spy made me delete TikTok even after they brought it back online. He says I have to stay on Red Note now that way he can keep a better eye on me.
