Why does TikTok disappear from recent apps on Android?

The issue happened on a Pixel 5, Galaxy S24 and Xiaomi 15. When switching apps, the TikTok app disappears from recent apps and I can't go back to it without reopening it. The app itself is still open in the background, for example if you're following a live video, the sound will keep coming out of the app but the app won't be there anymore. I've read posts of it happening to other people but no fix.

Does anyone know why that happens and how to fix it?
