Should I keep TikTok account or make a New one?

I have a TT account w/ 1,988 followers and a few vids. 1 vid has 8k views and another has 3k views. I actually realized I didn’t post this past year. This account doesn’t have much on it. I do have content edited and some I haven’t edited. I’m ready to create though and post. I have improved my content creation skills a lot since. 

I’m just wondering if it’s best to keep this account and continue posting on it? or make a new one and start over?

I’ve heard some people on tiktok videos would say that it’s best to create a new account as sometimes that does better idk if it has to do with the algorithm or something.
