Following page not showing anything. Says you need to add Followers

It just started today where although my account shows I'm following over 2200 people, none show. It says you need to add followers. Anyone else having issues? Also none of the accounts I follow are coming up on the regular feed. Just constant ads, foreign speaking accounts and spam.
