Why am I getting TikTok 2fa codes in WhatsApp?

I forgot my password. Im getting tiktok 2fa codes in my whatsapp from some American number. When i type it in app, it says that i should try it with trusted device. I registered my account with my old iphone. So what can i do now? ask the person to whom I sold my old phone to recover my password?
