I’ve only used tiktok in total like 10min, have a couple rocket league and cs2 clips posted and that’s it, I’ve never searched for anything but yet it’s saying this. The only thing I can think of is I’m a guy. Me and my gf both got Insta threads at the same time and hers was normal. Meanwhile mine was girls promoting there only fans. So do these social media apps put these in my algorithms cuz I’m a male?
That's not how the algorithm works, it analyzes user interactions, even if you glanced over a video - it'll assume you like that content and recommend more of it to you.

Yes this stuff gets pushed in general, and most likely more heavily on male users. On Instagram you can select interested or not interested on most videos but occasionally you come across a video that has the “not interested” button removed.
You spend the extra time trying to say not interested but only the interested button is there so it looks like you just watched the video for longer and it gets promoted in your feed.
The 3 types of videos on Instagram that you will occasionally not be allowed to be uninterested in are ragebait politics, MLM/Crypto scams, and OF ads. My working theory is that these people put the most money in instagrams pockets because they tend to get it back elsewhere.
On TikTok Theres only the not interested button which I use (a lot) and don’t seem to see it get much better so idk.
