TikTok shop wants me to cancel order and not them.

Yesterday i purchased a Gimbal from a shop on TikTok and the money showed as pending in my bank account. I then received a message from seller saying that there was a fire at the warehouse and his stock was destroyed and that he couldn't fulfill my order. He then asked me to cancel the order to receive a quicker refund. I replied and told him that as per TikTok shop terms and conditions that it is the seller who needs to cancel the order and not the buyer.

He then messaged again saying please cancel for quicker refund. I then checked my bank account and the money was taken from it.

Surely if i cancel that would give me negative feedback for future purchases. Is this because he doesn't want his rating affected by cancelling an order? Also the item is still on sale in the shop.

Have i been scammed? What should i do?

This is a common scam, happens on Temu as well. They can cancel the order, also report

Yes, it's a scam -_- How often does an entire shop and its supply burn down right after you make a purchase?

I'm just curious why does anybody buy things from The tick tock shop? I mean it's all just stuff from temu, being resold through American people. For four times if not more the price.

I'm just always been curious why it even exists

A shop tried to pull this crap on me. They promised me a free sample as long as I put their product on the showcase and they suddenly had a logistics issue.
