Anyone else genuinely think tiktok is one of the most toxic social medias?
So for context, I deleted tiktok over a year ago and got it back this month because I thought why not. I scrolled a little through the fyp and looked through some comments and realized how genuinely toxic everyone on their is. Even though instagram has some trolls, the stuff i've seen commented and posted on tiktok literally make my jaw drop. People will literally talk down and cyberbully others for anything but they are also so brainwashed and sensitive about literally everyone and every single thing. Cancel culture is so extreme there. Also, people on tiktok are so mentally unstable, like in comparison to other apps people having insane mental episodes seems to be more common among tiktok users. As someone who used to struggle a lot mentally before I deleted tiktok, getting back on the app and seeing my own stuff that I reposted and commented in the past is insane to me. I've also noticed these pessimistic behaviors, insecurities, radical feminism and normalization of women being 25+ years old being called old on tiktok.
Tiktok is literally like an "effect". I've seen how my own classmates who are chronically tiktok users behave. They literally act insane, it's literally like a drug that blurs your sense of thinking rationally. Seriously, I can tell who in the people I know is chronically a TikTok addict and who isn't, it's insane and I feel like with how much media is shoved in your face, how easy anything on the search bar shows, limits of characters in comment sections- it literally overstimulates your brain so much and causes anxiety
I don't know if anyone reading this will really understand what I mean but from my personal experience I genuinely think the "Tiktok effect" is real and it's ruining so many people's mental health
