I got a warning for calling someone stupid

Not surprising, they’ve been cracking down on intelligence based insults for months. I’ve gotten several accounts fully banned for calling people dumbasses

I got a strike for replying to an actual threat with a clown emoji. I reported the comment I was replying to, "no violations found."

The work around is being more refined in how you question someone's intelligence.
