Can't log in to account

I have an account that has a mail associated to it, but I can't get into it thru the "recover account" menu, like I used to (if I try to get to it thru mail, it tries to get me to create a new account). It pops me up to a "security checkup" tab and if I skip it, it cancels the account login. What can I do?
