Is it possible to change the default notification sound?

This is an issue on the Android app. I hate it how social media apps always override sertings on Android, it's like if they think our taste in settings and options is bad and they pick it for us! But they're our phones and we should be able to decide what sound we want to hear and how we want it to work!
