Am i getting bought as a follower

Okay so i only follow 32 accounts but literally every time i open the app it shoots up up to hundreds. Its all seems like bot accounts idk? Random usernames without videos and just weird accounts. Mind you this happens to me every now and then, it stops and then returns. Im so sick of having to unfollow hundred of accounts everytime oh my days.. Please tell me this isnt just happening to me.
