Starting a TikTok but feeling a bit lost — would love your honest advice ❤️

Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking seriously about starting a TikTok channel, but to be honest… I feel kind of lost. I know I want to do it. I feel creative, I enjoy editing short videos, and I love following trends and weird stories online. But the hardest part so far has been choosing a niche.

I don’t want to chase clout or fake trends — I want something that fits me and that I can stay consistent with.
Some things I genuinely enjoy:
– Telling interesting or bizarre stories
– Internet trends and global news
– Funny/awkward facts or moments
– Motivation and self-improvement
– Tech and internet culture

I can commit a few hours a day and I’m ready to learn and grow — I just don’t want to start in the wrong direction.

So I’m reaching out here:
How did you choose your niche if you’re a creator?
If you saw this list, what kind of content would you follow?
Any feedback or advice would mean a lot 🙏

Thanks for reading.

Of the things you enjoy, are you practicing those on a daily or weekly basis? You will need to be continuously creating output so you need new material on the topic constantly. Good luck

Hey there, official Creator Search Insights employee here. Good luck on your journey! It's great that you're putting so much thought into it and taking this seriously, but please remember to have fun while creating. You definitely don't want to face any burn-out.

Choosing a niche can be quite hard. Sometimes, the niche can come naturally as you create videos and see what your audience likes. You can start by creating any sort've content you're comfortable with and if you see certain videos gaining more traction, followers, engagement, etc... you can choose to focus on those types of videos or continue your variety.

Our tool, Creator Search Insights or CSI for short, allows you to see what trending search topics are out there. With enough followers and depending on your account, you can eventually see what your followers are searching for as well, providing you with the insights on how to create your next videos.

Please know that there isn't a 'wrong' direction. However, some factors of success include consistency, high-quality, and original. Don't overuse unrelated hashtags or keywords. Remember to ask yourself WHY your audience would or should watch your videos. And keep an eye out on your analytics!
