Fake News on TikTok during the 2025 Canadian Federal Election

I’m curious about TikTok’s role during the 2025 Canadian federal election.

Did any of you come across fake or misleading political content on TikTok? Things like memes or hoaxes, deepfakes or AI-generated clips, conspiracies, propaganda, or even sponsored content that wasn’t clearly labeled?

If you did, how did it affect you? Did it shift your opinion on any political issue or party? Did it influence your voting behaviour or your trust in the platform? Were you able to identify fake content easily or recognize it later? They did have an in-app Election Centre, and I want to know if it was useful.

Curious to hear how others felt about seeing (or trying to avoid) fake news on TikTok, especially since there's so much on there and it was quite difficult navigating it during the election.
