What the frick ðŸ˜
I had to take my video down because of this. I made an edit using the 'soda pop' song and it muted it yet, the sound is allowed on TikTok. (Also, you can only put 5 hashtags per video which is just annoying)

Its probably because over 1 minute means you can earn money, and you aren’t allowed to earn money from the sound because of copyright or something. Idk if I worded this right but that’s probably the reason
Oh wow. I’m sorry to hear it hasn’t happened before. I genuinely thought this was the norm as I’ve changed my editing style to appease this rule on all short form platforms to streamline my process
This happens a lot. I uploaded an artists singing their actual song, but because UMG removed all their music my live sound got removed. It’s usually a label/artist decision to limit or restrict the music being used. Using TikTok sounds is fine, because the label/artist will receive residuals if the creator is monetizing their content. However, if you’re not monetizing your content, as you said above, they’ll remove it; because, even though you’re not doing anything wrong, it doesn’t mean other people won’t try to cheat the system. Everyone has to be treated the same. If you make fan edits, your best bet is YouTube. However, they may also remove the content or put a strike against your account
